Who was Honored at the Feb. 13th, masonic conference at Guy T. Smith Lodge, as our GulfCoastMasons Mason of the year! Once again, the our annual outdoor MM degree at Fort Gaines on April 24th was a great success! Thanks to all who attended the 5th annual outdoor Master Mason raising at historic Fort Gaines on Dauphin Island. In spite of the bad weather forecasts and the actual bad weather occuring elsewhere, we had near perfect weather. I must say this was the best event we have had to date! The weather kept many from attending but as it turned out, aside from a few sprinkles during Lodge, it was great. I did notice though that as the candidates obligation began, so did some thunder and lightning. And as the obligation ended, so did the thunder and lightning. I wonder what the significance of that was? We anticipated something between 250 and 300 in attendance but the weather kept many from arriving. Still, we had nearly 100 and I want to extend a hearty thank you to all of you who came. Thank you Brothers!! I also would like to thank all of those Masons of our lodge and those of other lodges who pitched in with sweat equity to make this event possible. My hat is off and my hand extended in friendship and brotherly love to you all!!! I am already looking forward to next year! Come on out next year brothers, this is an event you will enjoy talking about for years afterward! - Michael Griffin PM, WM, Mobile Masonic Lodge #40 Mobile Alabama Brothers, Our new Alabama Grand Lodge Building is now finished, and everybody has moved in. ![]() Here is a link to several photos of our new State Grand Lodge!
